'Shipping Survey Reward' Scam
There are an almost infinite amount of ways to scam people online, but one that's particularly nefarious is the 'Shipping Survey Reward' Scam. It goes like this: You're surfing the internet and stumble across a website that offers to pay you for taking a survey about your shipping habits. All you need to do is enter your email address. Sounds like fun, right? Well, it might not end up being quite so fun if you end up going all the way – the scammers may try to take you through multiple steps that ask for more and more information such as your name, address, phone, and even payment information.
If you've found a survey that you really want to take, and it's free, then you should definitely take it. However, if you come across a survey that wants you to pay for it before you can take it, then you should know that you're being scammed. The 'Shipping Survey Reward' Scam falls in the latter category. It may be brought to your attention through a fraudulent email, or via browser pop-ups triggered by low-quality websites.
While some surveys are simply a waste of time, campaigns like the 'Shipping Survey Reward' Scam may end up wasting not just your time, but your money a well. Shipping companies would not approach you with free wards by asking you to pay money up front, or to provide loads of personal information. Surveys that demand such things are likely to be a scam, and you should stay away from them.
