How Malicious is ArrowRAT Malware?
A new malicious tool was recently discovered and detailed by security researchers, called ArrowRAT. As the name suggests, ArrowRAT is a remote access trojan with a wide array of malicious capabilities.
The trojan is sold as a subscription service, at $100 per month, with an option for a lifetime purchase at $400.
The ArrowRAT package includes capabilities for keylogging, managing Windows startup items, stealing passwords saved in browsers, editing the Windows registry and accessing available cameras and microphones.
Another noteworthy feature of ArrowRAT is that it can install a hidden virtual desktop on the compromised system, giving hackers even more options for further malware deployment or tinkering with the infected system.
ArrowRAT includes a sizable set of malicious features which makes the malware a serious threat that will need a dedicated anti-malware solution to clean if already deployed on the system.
